Shortcuts and School Days

the "scenic route"
Today in Cot we visited a few interesting places.  Our first endeavor was a potato farm, which is located a little ways up the mountain.  Upon arrival, we split into two groups and were given a tour of how they produce their potato chips.  After we were given a few samples, we went on our way.  Our next stop was just outside the farm.  We walked up a path and looked at crops such as cabbage, carrots, and onions.  The carrots were especially impressive because of their size.  We then decided to take a shortcut, better known as the "scenic route."  This route turned out to be quite treacherous, as there were very steep hills and a river.  Coordination was very important at this time.

After arriving back at our meeting point to have a delicious lunch of rice, mashed potatoes, and beef, we went to a school in the area.  I personally enjoyed this the most.  We played volleyball and basketball with the kids, and although we aren't able to speak the language, it is still such a fun and amazing experience to be able to make connections without words.  It's very exciting to think that there is still so much of this trip left to be experience.
